A few days ago an IHS officer, distraught over some bureaucratic issues approached me for prayers. While sharing prayers I explained a little about the Ruhi books and invited him to take a look at Book 1. The next day he met Rick DeLoughery at an inipi in Bear Soldier who also shared some of the Writings with him.
This evening we are scheduled to complete the final section of Book 1!

Well, this is not per say a Dakotas teaching story but it did happen in SD.
I was riding my bicycle cross country in 1976 and I had gotten a ride from Rapid City to Chamberlain. I had been given the name of a Baha'i gentleman as someone I could visit. I rang the door bell and a gentleman answered. He said the Baha'i lived in their basement but was gone for a few days. If I wished, he said I could stay there for the night. I accepted the offer and in fact they invited me for dinner. It happened to be a Feast night so I unloaded my bicycle panniers and sleeping bag, washed my face, said a prayer (devotions), talked to myself about how the day went and may still go (business), and went up for dinner (social). It was my first taste of Turkey Fries. I departed the next morning after leaving a thank you note for the Baha'i and thanking the family.
I recall arriving in Sioux Falls and the Baha'i family there had just been flooded out of their house. I rode to Sioux City. My back was out, upper vertebrae, so one of the Baha'is knew of a chiropractor in Vermillion, SD. The Baha'is were having a picnic in Vermillion and my friend took me to the chiropractor and we waited until 3pm to be seen. It was first come, first served, the treatment worked and it was only $3. The doctor said 'If I charged more, the poor could not afford to see me.' Very inspiring and I later went to massage therapy school. We drove to the picnic and had a nice social.
Hope that helps and have fun with your project.
God bless you,

Chief Fools Crow and Kate Fools Crow: Can you identify people in this photo?
Riaz (Phil) Castillo, ?, John Khadem, ? , Chief Fools Crow, Zhaleh Vafai, Blaire Nichols, ? , Payam Nademi, 2nd row: Kate Fools Crow. Note 10/04/2024: before he passed away, Bob Haugen told my husband Riaz (Phi) Castillo that he was asked by the NSA to interview Mr. Fools Crow to verify that he knew about the Covenant and history of the Faith when he signed his card. David Grindstone Hoff just left our home this morning. He and Riaz were both on the Amon Gibson Project. David said when the youth visited Mr. Fools Crow, he told them that he was already expecting them and that he was already a Bahai.
LEARNINGS
Dr. Atkins said that we have extensive 'learnings' about metropolitan areas, but we do not have 'learnings' about the rural areas.
